The fascination becomes passion when he does his eighth grade science project on fermentation. Ken Schultz is on his way to becoming a winemaker! In 1975 he began making wine as a hobby, using the native varieties of grapes from the Great Lakes region where he lived. In 1979, Ken and his wife Lisa moved to Montana, where they lived in a tipi while they worked on their home. The lack of local, available grapes in western Montana however was discouraging. In 1989, a neighbor gave Ken a 5 gallon bucket of crystallized honey and he decided to try his hand at making honeywine, the most ancient of all fermented beverages. The day after bottling the mead, Ken and his family moved to Papua New Guinea to develop a village level vocational training program. Arriving back in the USA, a long 7 years later, they all celebrated by trying the honeywine and it was heralded by all as Wonderful! Mead is an enchanting wine that evokes thoughts of legend and lore, song and poetry and is enjoyed by people in all walks and stages of life. The dream of being a winemaker became... --- > Read Hidden Legend Winery’s terms and conditions including purchase policies, privacy guidelines, and legal disclaimers. - Published: 2022-03-23 - Modified: 2025-06-11 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/terms-and-conditions/ Last updated: March 23, 2022 Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using Our Service. We produce premium wines from grapes grown in Montana. Hidden Legend also produces world class meads. We have teamed with the Allen's Vinard in the Skalkaho Valley. This Montana vineyard is only a few miles from our Montana winery. They grow four varieties of native North American grapes, against the odds, on their beautiful 3/4 acre Montana vineyard. Try our easy, foolproof methods now! - Published: 2025-05-12 - Modified: 2025-05-12 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/how-to-backsweeten-mead/ Are you finding that your homemade mead is too dry and missing that perfect sweetness? Well, maybe you should consider backsweetening, a useful technique to balance flavors and enhance your drink. This guide will show you how to sweeten mead with simple methods, like using raw honey or fruit juice, without ruining its character. Key Takeaways Backsweetening adds sweetness to mead after fermentation stops. Use honey, fruit juice, or blend with a sweeter batch for balanced flavor. Stabilize mead with potassium sorbate and sulfites before adding sugar. This prevents re-fermentation and bottle explosions. Gradually add sweeteners like honey or juice while tasting the mead often. Avoid over-sweetening by testing in small amounts first. Monitor for signs of re-fermentation, like bubbles or pressure in bottles, to prevent accidents from "bottle bombs. " Store sweetened mead in cool, dark places and age it for at least six months to improve flavors over time. Understanding Backsweetening Backsweetening adds sweetness to finished mead without restarting fermentation, balancing flavors in dry meads, and adjusting residual sugar for desired sweetness. This step is perfect for still mead, apple mead, or a bone-dry batch needing a touch of honey or other sweeteners. Fermentation must fully stop before adding fermentable sugars like honey, maple syrup, or apple juice. Stabilize the mead with potassium sorbate and potassium metabisulfite to prevent re-fermentation. Without this step, added sugar can restart fermentation and raise carbon dioxide levels, leading to bottle bombs. Preparing for Backsweetening To get started, you’ll first need to make... --- > Find out how long it takes to make delicious mead from scratch and get inspired to start your own homemade mead journey with Hidden Legend Winery. - Published: 2025-04-08 - Modified: 2025-04-08 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/how-long-does-it-take-to-make-mead/ People often assume that making mead at home is a tricky process, if not impossible, but that doesn’t need to be the case. Mead, a mix of honey and water that ferments into honey wine, has been enjoyed for centuries, and you can certainly make it at home. However, a primary source of confusion is how long it actually takes to make mead. If you’ve ever wondered about that, this guide is exactly what you need. Our team at the Hidden Legend Winery will explain the steps and timelines to help you make your own delicious mead. Keep reading to learn how to get started on your first batch! What Exactly Is Mead? Anyone who has never tried mead is missing out! This delicious alcoholic beverage is made by fermenting a mixture of honey, water, and yeast and has been enjoyed for thousands of years, making it one of the oldest known beverages. Different flavors come from adding fruits, spices, or herbs to the honey-water mixture. Sweet mead contains more honey, while dry mead uses less. Yeast strains like wine yeast or champagne yeast help start fermenting the sugars in the honey into alcohol. However, a lot of mead drinkers prefer wild yeast for its unique taste. Initial Preparation and Fermentation Timeline By far, the longest part of the mead-making process is the actual fermentation process, which we’ll explain in a moment. However, before you can get started with that, you’ll first need to conduct some initial preparations. Preparing Ingredients... --- > Learn how to bottle your mead for aging and storage. You observe that the fermentation process has completed, the bubbles have settled, and the mead is ready. Since carrying around a gallon jug of mead is impractical, you know it’s time to prepare for bottling. Bottling mead can seem a bit complicated but don’t worry. We have it all sorted out for you. Let’s dive into how to bottle mead for proper aging and storage. Which bottle to use The first step is for you to decide which bottle would be suitable for storing your mead. This will depend on two factors- the level of carbonation in your mead, and its alcohol content. Wine bottles or beer bottles? For carbonated meads, beer or champagne bottles are the best options. These bottles are made with thicker glass and have a gradual neck that can withstand the pressure of a sparkling mead. Using a thinner wine bottle for carbonated meads might result in a dangerous bottle bomb. If you’re bottling a still or non-carbonated mead, wine bottles are excellent, especially for aging bottles. Many mead makers prefer natural corks for wine bottles as they allow for micro-oxygenation, which can enhance the flavor profile of the mead over time. However, beer usually has a lower ABV than wine, containing only a one-time serving. Some people who make mead like to bottle it in wine bottles if it is to age for long. Beekeepers are the people who supply the base ingredient in mead and the past few years have not been good for honeybees, either of the wild variety or farmed. However, the burgeoning mead industry is - naturally - tied to honey production, and indulging in the one helps the efforts of the other. Regenerative Honey For the past few years, there have been massive die-offs of honeybees, leading to a small but growing number of regenerative honey operations. This differs from many other agricultural endeavors given how honeybees impact the local ecosystem. Bees pollinate plants after all, which leads to blooming flowers and benefits to other flora, which few others organisms do. It is quite literally the case that most plants depend on bees to survive. As so many honeybees are lost to global warming, pollution and other factors, this has lead honey producers to turn to regenerative agriculture practices. What Is Regenerative Agriculture? Regenerative agriculture is a holistic and restorative approach to farming that leads to the restoration of an ecosystem, by growing crops and plants that bolster and support growth of other plants. How Honey Farming Benefits the Ecosystem Since farming bees benefits the plants in and around where honey is grown, regenerative honey growing is producing some real results in areas that have begun to stagnate due to honeybee die-off. You may also produce a pyment by combining honey and grape juice. This list could go on and on and on, ranging from sweet meads to meads that aren't as fruity or sweet. Honey isn't all the same. The flowers visited by the bees can greatly influence the taste. Among the honey varietals most commonly used are, apple blossom honey, buckwheat honey, and tupelo honey. The final mead taste will differ depending on where the nectar comes from. Mead typically tastes sweet or dry, just like honey wine. It's only a matter of adding more or less sugar, honey, or whatever else you'd like to experiment with at bottling. Let's understand first what is mead: What is mead? Archaeological records from both Northern China and Greece place mead amongst the earliest of any alcoholic drinks discovered by man. Honey was a cheap source of sugar – needed for the distillation process. It also has antimicrobial properties which reduced the chance for a contaminant to sneak in. In modern day society, we think of mead as the famous drink of the Vikings. The Scandinavians weren’t the first nor even the most prominent of drinkers of this honey-sweetened brew. Romans, Greeks, and the Chinese all enjoyed a drink that can be made in a surprising number of variations. HOW IS MEAD MADE? If you want to go old school, Columella, a Latin historian, wrote in 60 A. D. this basic recipe for mead: Take a half liter of distilled rain water and mix in a third of a kilogram of honey. Let it sit out in the sun for approximately 40 days and you’ve got yourself a strong mead. For a weaker mead, only add a quarter of a kilogram of honey. These units are approximated from what historians know to be Roman units of measurement. But from this simple recipe, we can garner a lot. Because water weighs one kilogram per liter, we can deduce a rough 3:2 ratio of water to honey for the strong mead. For a weaker mead, we’re looking at a 2:1 ratio. Just like with wine making, there are many more types of mead out there as well, as spiced meads are very popular worldwide and there are many variations. There are also fruit mead varieties that bring a unique taste that many mead connoisseurs love. Additionally, some recipes call for longer fermentation periods than others. Some meads are ready to consume in about the same time as many beers. Some take a few seasons. Some require years of fermentation; it all depends on the recipe and the ingredients one acquires. Mohamed hadn’t when he dictated the Koran. A very entertaining film about Vikings gives us some insight into this. The 1998 film The 13th Warrior, is about an Arab ambassador named Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan who is sent to make contact with the barbaric Vikings of the North in 922 A. D. Only moments after finding the Vikings, a sorcerer sees a vision and chooses 12 Vikings to travel farther north to fight their flesh-eating enemies. She then says that a thirteenth warrior must be a foreigner and Ahmed, whom the Vikings call “Eben,” soon finds himself on his way to fight a formidable enemy. After a gruesome battle with the enemy, one of the Vikings, who was very skeptical of “Eben” in the beginning, offers his new brother in arms a drink from his horn flask. “I cannot, taste neither the fermentation of grape nor of wheat” says Ahmed. The Viking bursts out laughing. “What, why do you laugh. ” Says “Eben,” “honey, its made from honey” says the Viking and the Ahmed takes a long drink of the nectar of the gods. Easy to confuse them since mead is also known as honey-wine and has plenty in common with beer. You may even come across types of mead that remind you so much of ye ole' ale that you think it's a new craft brew. When it comes to mead vs. beer, it's better to know the differences to better appreciate them. Mead is older than wine and is tied into ancient religion more than what was thought. Due to the rising popularity of the nectar of the gods, people are looking to get their hands on quality mead and know the ins and outs of the drink itself as well as how to make mead themselves. It's certainly a renaissance, and the Vikings are likely toasting to our renewed love of mead up in Valhalla. If you're interested in becoming a honey wine aficionado or just wanting to know more about mead, read on and discover the many delicious differences between mead vs. beer. Nothing like wetting your whistle with a bit of knowledge before your palette is consumed by the brew the gods preferred. All Mixed Up In the mead vs. beer discussion, it's best to start at the base. While some kinds of mead may remind you of beer, they couldn't be further apart when it comes to the basic ingredients. There is a reason why mead is referred to as "honey-wine" and that's... --- > Learn how to store mead properly for long-term aging. Discover ideal temperatures, storage tips, and how long mead lasts before it peaks. - Published: 2024-10-27 - Modified: 2025-03-19 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/proper-mead-storage/ Wondering how to store mead, now that you have (or are interested in starting to) enjoy it? Like wines or spirits, mead can be stored long-term and aged. Since mead is closer to wine than cider or beer, are the rules just like storing wine? There are some similarities, but there are some significant differences. Just like storing wine, you need a temperature-controlled or at least temperature-stable environment for storing mead, with relatively controlled humidity. Aging Mead vs Storing Mead At this point, it's relevant to define aging mead versus storing mead. Mead, like wine, cider or beer, needs a certain amount of time in the bottle before it reaches a suitable "age" to drink. Just like with wine or certain spirits, there's a minimum age and then there's a peak age, usually much later. Bourbon, for instance, is a blended spirit and usually requires about three years in the barrel before it's aged enough to truly enjoy. Single-malt Scotch, on the other hand, can take up to ten years before it has sufficiently mellowed. Mead should ideally age between six months to three years of aging before its ready to drink, depending on the mead. Just as with wine, lighter meads tend to be ready sooner; heavier, darker meads take longer. Most classic meads generally are ready to drink within one year. Storing mead, on the other hand, is done to further age the delicious beverage so that it truly become all that it can be. What You Need... --- > Is mead sweet? Like grape wine, honey-wine or mead can vary in flavor and asking "is mead sweet? " is too simple a question to describe the complexities of this drink. The assumption is usually that mead is sweet because it's honey based, but to think that is to deny all the various other ingredients a good mead can have. Let's go over some of the variations of mead and the dynamic tastes that can arise from it to find out is mead sweet. Honey and What the Bees Had Many people assume that all honey is sweet because they've only had sweet honey, but have you ever seen the different categories of honey and tasted how they differ? Bees feed off of different flowers and plants and that can greatly affect the flavor of the honey, for example, have you ever heard of Apple Blossom Honey or Tulip Honey? Depending on what kind of honey is used for the mead can change how sweet the mead is. Take, for instance, the Maple Honey Mead which uses Montana honey as its base. The honey produced there is often derived from wild nectar sources, the almond groves in California, and plants natural to that part of the county. That honey would be wildly different than honey produced on the east coast unless the bees were fed a specific... --- > Discover the origins of mead wine—also called the nectar of the gods—and learn what sets it apart from traditional grape wines. - Published: 2024-10-25 - Modified: 2025-06-11 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/mead-wine/ Mead is a beverage with a long and storied history. While wine is a staple on grocery store shelves, mead—often referred to as honey wine—has been making a comeback, sparking curiosity about what sets these drinks apart. Is it their history, ingredients, taste, or even the fermentation process? Let’s dive in. For starters, the key difference lies in their primary ingredients: wine is made from grape juice, while mead is created using fermented honey. Most grape wine is straightforward, made exclusively with wine grapes and sometimes blended before bottling for consistency. In contrast, meads often include various ingredients, such as fruits or spices, to add complexity. Even in the fermentation process, wine relies heavily on the role of grape skins for flavor and texture, while mead takes on the unique character of its honey source. Another common misconception stems from the term honey wine. Some assume mead is simply wine with added honey or that it’s always sweet, but this isn’t the case. Similarly, while wine has been a cornerstone of the global wine trade, mead holds a storied history of its own, tracing back to ancient civilizations where it was revered as a drink of gods and kings. Ultimately, comparing mead vs. wine isn’t about declaring a winner—it’s about appreciating their differences and unique appeal. The nations of the Ancient Near East, the Greeks, and Romans, Celts, Norse and Germanic peoples as well as the civilizations of ancient India and more consumed some version of honey wine. The simplest meads, consisting of little more than honey, water, and yeasts, were common but so were a large number of meads brewed with various herbs and spices. In fact, one of the oldest mead recipes known to have been written down was by Columella, a Roman author from the first century BCE, which was little more than water, honey and wild yeast. But archeological evidence of mead goes back further than that, and with modern technology's capabilities of chemical analysis, even older recipes are being unearthed. Iron Age Mead Recreated by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee In 2016, an international team of researchers connected to the archaeology department of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee teamed with Milwaukee's Lakefront Brewery, according to NPR to recreate an Iron Age mead recovered from a grave site.... --- > Should mead popularity continue to grow, it may not be too long before a person IS able to find a bottle or two regularly down at the local. - Published: 2017-01-29 - Modified: 2025-04-08 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/mead-popularity-growing-faster-than-craft-beer/ The Recent Rise Of Mead Despite what you might think with craft breweries and distilleries cropping up on more and more street corners in more and more cities, that these are the drinks people prefer - but the truth is mead (honey wine) is the fastest-growing adult beverage on the market. Mead popularity is growing faster than any other class of tipple, including wine, beer or spirits. This should come as no surprise. Mead was, at one time, the most popular drink in the world. It was only in the past couple of decades that any mead was made commercially, outside of a few markets around the world. For the most part, it was a forgotten drink that aroused curiosity but didn't make enough sense to produce on any sort of scale outside of home brewing. After all, wine, beer and spirits were essentially the dominant drinks on a global scale not only for much of the 20th century, but also for much of the past millennia. However, a few small operations here and a few small operations there gave mead a chance, and started producing honey wines. A few of them started attracting a following and regular customers. A few more regular customers followed, then a few more meaderies, until it started appearing in more stores. By 2010, mead sales began gathering serious steam for what was regarded as a niche beverage. Between 2011 and 2014, according to Thrillist, the American Mead Maker's Association reported mead sales had grown... --- > The Untold History of Making Mead - Learn how Mead (Honey Wine) was born and its ties to the term honeymoon. - Published: 2016-08-04 - Modified: 2023-06-20 - URL: https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/the-untold-history-of-making-mead/ A Brief History of Mead Mead – derived from the Old English word ‘medu’ – is a popular alcoholic beverage. It is primarily created by fermenting honey with water and contains 8-20% alcohol, the flavor is then enhanced with various spices and fruits. While the sugar in the beverage primarily comes from honey, the final product can be dry, sweet, semi-sweet or even artificially carbonated. Mead is not only one of the richest and most beloved beverages by alcohol connoisseurs but is also one of the oldest. The history goes all the way back to when man first discovered alcohol. Legend has it that some hunters stumbled upon an upturned beehive filled with rainwater and they drank it, unaware of the intoxicating effects of the fermentation. From there on began the efforts to replicate the fascinating experience that they had just come across, and that is where the process of making mead began! Mythology Surrounding Mead Mead has had several myths developed around it throughout history and has been called various names including Nectar and Ambroisa. We now know it was produced in Asia, since Chinese pottery dating back to 6500 BC was found containing traces of the fermented chemical mixture. In Europe, the first samples were found from around 2000 BC. Interestingly, mead was once even related to religion, with ancient Greeks believing it was the ‘Drink of the Gods’. Because of the enthralling intoxication, it caused, it was considered sacred and was believed to have magical properties. Our Pure Honey Mead has consistently been the best seller, and that in part is due to the simple nature, but complex flavor masterfully achieved by our head mead maker Ken. We start with Montana Wildflower Honey; transform it into a golden, off-dry beverage with a balanced acidity that is easy to drink with a variety of meals. We like to think of our Pure Honey Mead as a ‘Contemporary’ version of what many believe is the oldest fermented beverage on earth. By balancing the honey flavor with oak, tannins and leaving a slight acidity, we end up with mead that has the mouth feel of a white wine with the flavor of honey. Dark Mead Dark Mead It kind of started as an accident. A pot of honey was warming on the stove and was forgotten about for a little too long. What we ended up with was a nicely darkened honey that makes phenomenal mead. The practice of darkening honey for mead has been around for centuries and is called Bouchet (bow-shay). Our dark mead has become a favorite amongst those who like dark strong ales, stouts, and porters. Whiskey drinkers have noticed nuances in our Dark Mead that they find similar to their favorite Scotch. We notice a slight malty flavor, and the darkened aspect of the honey almost lends a slight bitterness to the overall flavor. Carmel,... --- > Buying mead online is getting easier. The basic answer is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey, but there is more to it. The U. S. government answers the question what is mead by saying it is "honey wine", probably because it is made by the same process as wine, but it deserves a classification of its own. Mead can be sweet or dry, sparkling or still, and flavored with anything imaginable. Honey doesn’t oxidize like grapes do so mead doesn’t have to be consumed before the next morning, or you'll have to cook with it, like wine. It predates history so no one is really sure where it was first made or by whom, but it has been written about in some of the oldest recorded literature. Literature like Beowulf where all the Vikings got together and drank mead in the "Mead Hall. " Mead has been found preserved in jars on ships that sank in the Mediterranean and is believed to be the root word of medicine as Hippocrates used mead as one of his foundation medicines. If you are interested, take a look at our previous post where we talk about the history of mead. What is mead? Mead is wine made from honey. Don't let this mislead you though, it is wine because it is made in the same fashion as grape wine through cold fermentation, but it stands on its own as a unique drink that can be drank in its pure form or blended with any flavor imaginable. It is interesting to note that Hippocrates used mead in medicine because mead maintains a lot of the health qualities of honey. Meads also do not require sulfates in the fermentation process because of the preserving qualities of honey which make oxidation a moot point. This is also cool because you can keep an open bottle around for weeks and the honey wine will not change like grape wines do after you open a bottle. The National Honey Board says that mead has similar health benefits of white wine due to the antioxidant characteristics of wine. The immune boosting properties of honey are retained in mead as well. Hippocrates, the most famous father of medicine, promoted the use of honey in all kinds of healing ways. He also used elderberry tincture as a staple medicine, often combining this elderberry wine with raw honey to make it more palatable. Hidden Legend makes a Wild Elderberry Mead that is healthful as well as delicious! Healing Powers Attributed to Mead Honey was a dominant ingredient in many ancient medications and the mythical medicinal powers attributed to mead are because of the use of honey in the mead making process. Honey is considered to be a disinfectant and alcohol can be used as an expectorant. When herbs are added to make various forms of metheglin (spiced mead), the medicinal qualities of the herbs are infused into the mead. Cultures all over the world made their own unique blend of metheglin to cure whatever was needed. Aborigines made mead from rare medicinal herbs and Europeans used over 100 different herbs in some mead that were designed as a complete Cure-All! Hidden Legend Pure Honey Mead is light, smooth and with the most wonderful honey aftertaste. This Montana winery is blessed to be able to use local knapweed honey. Knapweed, considered by local ranchers to be a pest weed because of the hardiness and proliferation of the plant, was originally brought to Canada by Scotsmen specifically to make honey. Knapweed starts blooming about the time other wildflowers begin to die off and continues to bloom until the snow flies which really extends the season for beekeepers to make honey. Scotsmen are especially fond of good knapweed honey and they are known to be equally fond of good Mead! Pure Honey Mead is an extension of the winemaking history of this oldest of wines. As you peruse the internet in search for mead (honey wine) and information about mead, you will often find the phrase “brew mead” as you read, but mead is actually not a beer or beer like beverage at all. The U. S. Government classifies mead as a honey wine because mead is made using the same cold, yeast fermentation method that is used to make grape wine. Well made mead is not super sugary nor does it taste like beer. The blend of honey, water, and sometimes fruit juice, can be fermented to the point where there is no sugar left at all. The mead maker is left with a well balanced table wine that rivals grape wines you’ve tried. If you are interested in learning more about mead take a look at our beginner mead wine guide. Is Mead Wine Very Sweet Despite Fermentation? It can be, but not like any sweet wine you have tried though, as mead is honey wine and not grape wine. The balance of sugar, tartness, and alcohol will put mead in the realm of wine, but with something more. That uniqueness can make mead acceptable to people who don’t normally appreciate wine, while holding the interest of people who drink wine all the time. Mead Honey Wine was around before the Roman Empire or when Jesus made wine from water. Needless to say mead has an extensive history. It was there a long time before France became the authority on wine or California toppled French wines from their throne in international wine competitions. Many famous people in history drank mead honey wine, including King Tut, Eric the Red, and Queen Elizabeth. Mead Honey Wine Discovery Our word “honeymoon” comes from the tradition of giving newlyweds a month’s supply of mead honey wine which was believed to increase the chances of having male offspring. One of my favorite legends of modern mead's birth is that monks, who raised bees, washed their barrels with water. They discovered over time that when honey was mixed with water, its natural preservatives were broken down enough so that fermentation could begin. This fermentation was experimented with and mead was born. Mead Honey Wine was probably around quite some time before even the monks though, so it is more likely that a bee hive got wet and began to ferment before a lucky human stumbled across it and discovered mead honey wine. Bees live and make honey everywhere while grapes originally grew only in the temperate Mediterranean and a few more varieties were discovered by the Vikings in the New World. It is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages known to humans, dating back to at least 7000 BC. Mead can be dry, semi-sweet, or sweet. It is typically served chilled and can be enjoyed on its own or used in cocktails. The basic ingredients for mead are honey, water, and yeast, but many other ingredients, such as fruits, spices, and grains, can be added. The coveted mead recipes, often involving a meticulous process of primary fermentation and secondary fermentation, were treasured by vintners. Our winemaker has crafted a delightfully modern version of traditional mead that can be heated with a cinnamon stick, creating a mulled mead experience, or served chilled for a refreshing taste. Adding spices such as mulling spices during the fermentation process, our spiced mead complements turkey or pork exceptionally well. The Art of Crafting Spiced Mead At Hidden Legend Winery, we honor the age-old tradition of fermenting honey with a blend of mulling spices, creating a delightful mixture that brings out the rich flavors of our mead. We start by mixing honey water with bread yeast, letting this mixture cool in a dark place. After the primary fermentation, we proceed to the secondary fermentation, adding spices like cinnamon sticks to enhance the flavor profile. Our commitment to less honey and more spice results in a mead recipe that is both unique and reminiscent of ancient practices. Serving Suggestions Enjoy our spiced mead with a swirl gently to release its aromatic flavors. Whether you're preparing a mead recipe at home or savoring our bottle, whether you serve chilled or at room temp, our spice mead’s flavors are sure to delight anyone. Additionally, adding boiling water to our spice mead can transform it into a comforting mulled mead, perfect for cooler evenings.
